A very BIG thank you
To all of the staff at Birmingham Children's Hospital.

My oldest son, a few on here have met my boys, and a mad west ham fan, was taken in to there on wednesday and after a lot of care was rushed to theatre last night for open heart surgery to replace a badly infected valve.

The heart surgeons, cardiologist's, plastic surgeon, staff nurses, other nurses, family liaison and every other member of staff could not have done a better job and made it as non scary as it possibly can be.

Being asked to sign a form and being told it is for life saving surgery, and there really isn't a choice, is not nice and the relief of seeing him come out of theatre and with the surgeon with a smile on his face, beats the feeling of euphoria of hearing the final whistle at the play off final.... a few readers on here were celebrating with him at that game!!

You'll be please to also hear that the only clothing he has here to wear are west ham shirts and shorts. Only the proper claret and blue is on display here today in this part of the midlands.

A rocky road for his recovery for the next couple of weeks but onwards and upwards

Ironsssssssssssssssss'
